Marriage Monday: Spouse vs kids- Finding a balance
I love Dr. Matt Townsend. He is a relationship coach, life coach and communication expert. My husband and I have gone to his Date Night and laughed so hard and left feeling uplifted and determined to grow closer together. I have also done his Life Changer program. I am a huge fan! Watch this short 8 minute video with some great insight and reminders to find balance in your marriage.
1. Find the compliment not the critique.
2. Lose the excuse that you do not have time. Invest your time it what really matters.
3. Focus on the important and not the urgent.
4. You have to get time together on the schedule. Every single day. If it's not on the schedule, it's not going to happen!
Find the compliment in the critique. I like that. We all like to offer feedback, but I often find myself bristling when I'm being critiqued. All this time, my husband was trying to compliment me. :)
Watched it! Loved it! I love how he says we have to schedule in time together and write it down or else it won't happen. I'm often so naive about our evenings/nights and think we'll have all this time together, but then we often waste it away separately or doing other things. Need to schedule! Thanks for this- I'll share it on my page since I have a marriage blog ;)

I love Matt Townsend! His advice is always like "Duh! Why didn't I think of that!"
