Photo Challenge Update

Do you remember the photo challenge I posted at the end of 2014? I hoped to do an update every other week, but we are 3 whole months into the year and this is only my third update. It has been a busy new year with a new baby, a move that has brought lots of change and adjustment and a new job for me. I am grateful for this challenge though, because it has forced me to take out my "nice camera" and play around with it, which I do not get to do nearly enough. I have kind of put my desire to really learn how to use it on the back burner. Here is my update. Remember, I have not yet done any editing, so this is the best that I can do for now.

Photo Callenge Update

See my original post about the photo challenge here.
Previous posts with picture update here.

This whole taking pictures thing is hard! I thought maybe I could take pictures of our little man for his blessing day... wrong! I ended up calling my talented photographer sister in law and asking her to help me out. She took the most lovely pictures. Here are a few pictures from the week. I really like this challenge because it gets me to really think about the pictures I am taking. They are not perfect, but I love them all the same. I love these little people of mine. I am also looking into getting Lightoom so I can start learning how to edit... hopefully that will happen soon! Enjoy!

Once again these are taken in AV mode so I set the aperture and ISO and the shutter speed is on auto. Is that right photographers? Correct me if I'm wrong and feel free to give any advice, but remember to be nice! :)

Photo Challenge Update

Okay folks, I have been working on the photo challenge. There really are not enough hours in the day! I'm determined to really learn how to use my camera and take better pictures of my little ones.  For any photographers out there these were taken in AV mode and I have since learned how to manually select my focal point. Please be kind... remember I am learning. I also have not even attempted learning how to edit photos yet. I think I will get Lightroom instead of photoshop... opinions? Here are some pictures from the first couple weeks.

Sleep

She naps in her baby brother's room, thus the mix matched bedding... I really wish I could edit because this picture has too many colors and prints for my liking. Maybe I will retake "sleep" but for now this is it... I want to hold myself accountable for taking 1-2 pictures a week and this was the best I could do.

Photo Challenge 2015

Are you always taking pictures of your kids? Or do you need to take more?

I recently got a new camera. I have wanted a nice one for a while and my sweet husband came home from Black Friday shopping with an early Christmas/5 year anniversary surprise for me! I always said that when I got a camera I really wanted to learn how to use it. I can
point and shoot" with my phone or a less expensive camera, so I really want to  learn how to shoot in manual.

Regardless to what camera you have, please join me in this photo challenge! I have been thinking about some new year goals and like I said, I want to learn how to use my camera, but I also love taking pictures of my little ones, which is why I wanted a camera to begin with... so after looking at several photo challenges I came across this one that I am really excited about. There are 75 photos to take, so 1-2 a week. That's manageable right?
